Tasty Cannabis Edibles You Can Make at Home
If you’re an avid baker or consider yourself a semi-professional cook, then chances are you’ve been pondering the possibility of making your own edibles. Heck, even if you’ve just been craving some good food with your weed intake, then we’ve got the solution for you.
Some people can be a little intimidated at the prospect of making their own edibles, but honestly the process is quite simple when you know how.
However, if you just don’t have the time or the patience to make your own, feel free to have a look at some of our available edibles.
For some quick tips before we dive into the different types of edibles you should consider making, take a look at our guide to making your own edibles with the Magical Butter Machine. This should give you the low-down on where to begin – but we’ll go over the basics…
Remember the decarboxylation process
Decarboxylation is an important process for almost all weed edibles. So, before you even think about what you’re going to infuse, you’ll need to decarboxylate your buds.
You can decarboxylate your weed easily enough at home by applying a low heat to the buds for a long period of time. Usually, the process is done in an oven, but you can also use a mason jar.
For more information on how to do this, check out this step-by-step process.
Cannabutter
This one goes without saying – it’s perhaps one of the most important products when considering making edibles. But, what many people overlook is that cannabutter can be used as its own product – and not just simply in baked goods.
You can have cannabutter on toast, melt it on your sweetcorn, add it to your pasta dishes, or just about any dish that calls for traditional butter. And it’s a great replacement!
And, as mentioned, it’s also the strong foundation to a lot of weed recipes.
Pot Brownies
We couldn’t provide a list of tasty weed-infused treats without mentioning the edible icon that is pot brownies! They’re somewhat of a staple in the edible world, especially when you’re first starting off.
But who can blame people for wanting to satiate their sweet tooth while getting their high?
And if you’re interested in customizing them to your tastes, then don’t be afraid to get creative! You can add all your favourites, make the brownies vegan-friendly, or anything else you like.
Weed Tea
What’s better than a cup of tea on a cold day? Perhaps a cup that also provides your desired dose of marijuana…
Weed tea is fantastic if you’re looking to drink in your high, rather than eat it. Plus, it avoids all the unwanted sugar and salt involved in the above two recipes. Or, if you’re still looking for that sweet kick, you can add a drop of honey to the recipe.
Cannabis-infused Oil
Much like cannabutter, cannabis-infused oil can work as a fantastic foundation to many dishes. You can just add this to any dish that might call for a certain oil – coconut and olive oil tend to be the most common.
The best part about cannabis-infused oil, is the process can also be applied to non-edible oils. So, you learn it once and it has a great deal of applications beyond just cooking!
Weed Cookies
The moment you consider all the baking possibilities with cannabis, cookies are going to come up eventually. And, unsurprisingly, they’re a fantastic option when you want to make edibles!
Usually made with cannabutter or cannabis-infused coconut oil, these are a game changer when you want to switch it up from brownies. Or, if you’re just more of a cookie person.
If you’re looking to elevate your cookie game, then try this recipe!
Marijuana Milk
Marijuana milk may very well be one of the most versatile infusions we’ve come across, beyond cannabutter and oil. Milk is something we can pair with many things, so if you choose to make marijuana milk, you could have something very special on your hands.
The milk is usually silky smooth with a distinctly weed-infused flavour that compliments the milk quite well. It doesn’t take long to create, with the recipe taking about two hours.
Some of the tasty things we recommend using your marijuana milk for include: ice cream; mashed potatoes; your morning coffee (or tea); omelets; and the list goes on! Your imagination really is the limit with this one.
Cannabis-infused Bacon
If you’re a bacon fan (and we’re betting you are), then you’re going to love this one! Cannabis-infused bacon can add an extra dimension to whatever meal you choose to add it to. For us, it’s definitely breakfast!
And for an added bonus, when the cooking is over, you get some delicious cannabis-infused bacon fat to add to other dishes!
We definitely recommend trying this one out.
Weed Sugar
Cannabis sugar is another versatile edible you should consider making. Unfortunately, it’s probably one of the longer and more complicated processes. But trust us – it’s worth it!
Once the sugar is made, you’ll be able to use it in a variety of dishes. Anything from baking brownies, cookies and cakes to some more exciting drinks. You may even wish to add it to your morning routine with a spoonful in your tea or coffee.
And much more!
These are just some of our favorites – but there’s plenty of tasty recipes out there to browse.
We recommend doing some research and finding the recipes that suit you best and remember to experiment when you’ve nailed the process!
