Magical Butter Machine – Make your own edibles
Making cannabis-infused butter can sometimes feel like a daunting experience, especially if you don’t have any experience in the matter.
The process requires a great deal of precision, due not only to the fact that it is difficult to control dosage through edibles, but also the fact that butter can burn very easily. And, when it comes to edibles, most of us prefer brownies to BBQ.
Even the most proficient of home bakers are aware of one thing when using cannabis in their creations – there’s no perfect way to guarantee the potency and consistency of their edibles.
Luckily, the Magical Butter Machine makes the process easier. A lot easier.
What is the Magical Butter Machine?
The Magical Butter Machine is the first countertop botanical extractor, immersion blender and heating unit – all rolled into one.
Designed to infuse the essence of herbs into butter, oil, lotions and more, it provides the versatility to make new and intricate botanical infusions. It can grind, stir, heat and steep herbal extracts at precise temperatures, resulting in high-quality infusions and minimal effort.
This is what makes it a very attractive option for creating your own cannabutter.
While we’ll focus mostly on its use for making cannabutter, you can use the Magical Butter Machine for much more than this. It’s useful for infusing other oils, and for making your own CBD (cannabidiol) oil.
It’s also a lot easier than other methods – and a lot less messy.
How do I make Cannabutter with the Magical Butter Machine?
There are a few steps in the process but trust us – they’re not as difficult as they seem at first glance.
Ingredients
- 2-4 cups of clarified butter
- 7-14g of decarboxylated cannabis per each cup of butter
- 1 tbsp lecithin per cup of butter
Step 1 – Decarboxylate your cannabis
This step is necessary when making cannabutter. If you skip it, then your end-product may be weak or inactive.
To decarboxylate (or decarb) your cannabis flower, you will need to add between 7-14g per cup into the Magical Butter Decarbox.
Then bake in your oven for 30 minutes at 250°F (120°C).
Step 2 – Add the herbs
Once the decarboxylate process has finished, add your herbs to the Magical Butter Machine.
Then, add the clarified butter and lecithin to the mixture.
Set the machine’s temperate to 160°F (71°C) and your time to 2 hours, for butter.
The machine will then do the hard work – stirring, heating and grinding. After the cycle is complete, unplug the machine.
Step 3 – Strain the mixture
Using the filter bag and LoveGlove provided, strain the cannabutter mixture.
Pour the pitcher content slowly through the filter bag and squeeze remnants to ensure you get every last drop. You don’t want to waste an inch of this.
It will be hot – so be careful!
Step 4 – Divide the Mixture
Pour the cannabutter mixture into separate trays, moulds, or your desired storage container.
Finally, leave the mixtures to set in the fridge for use in your favourite treats!
How to make edibles
Following the steps above, you’ll have made your very own cannabutter to help you through the edible-making process.
The good news is that’s the hardest part out of the way. The bad news is there’s so many delicious recipes that only get improved with the use of cannabutter. Brownies, chocolate, muffins and even something that doesn’t go with ice-cream!
Hopefully though, if you’re making cannabutter, you’ll know what kind of edibles you’re looking to make.
No matter what recipe you’re using, the most important thing is how you incorporate your cannabis. Cannabutter and cannabis-infused oil can be added directly to the recipe.
What are the benefits of making your own edibles?
If you’re not just looking for the sense of achievement you get from making your own edibles, then there are plenty of other reasons to consider doing it yourself.
First, making your own butter or oil to cook with gives you full control over the type of cannabis flower you want to use.
THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) is the most preferred starting ingredient, but veteran bakers have the luxury of branching out to other materials. Other popular methods include using the CBD hemp flower and some people will even use CBD oil in their edibles.
It’s largely trial and error, but the choice lies with the baker – and that’s you.
Additionally, while cooking with cannabis is never an exact science in terms of dosage, you will definitely have more control of this when you’re the chef. Especially if you know the % THC of the flower you’re using.
Is it worth it?
How useful the Magical Butter Machine is for you will depend on what you’re looking to get out of it – more specifically, how much.
You can’t make small batches of infusions with the machine. So, you’ll need at least 14 grams of cannabis and 2 cups of oil or butter to reach the minimum recommended quantity.
If you’re looking for any less than that, then it might not be worth it. But remember – the butter and oil lasts. And, if you’re hoping for large quantities then it’s never going to let you down on that front.
Regardless of quantity, though, the versatility of the machine really helps with the allure of the machine.
It’s perfect for if you’re looking to save money making your own edibles.
Even if you put this machine through some seriously intense infusions, it’ll hold up.
So, it’s definitely worth the money in that case.
Most importantly, it will make your life easier, whatever you’re using it for
